Music of the Week!

Back
24 January 2020

In Fox Class we love singing songs and listening to different types of music. Each week we have a  piece of music that we listen to several times. We think about the mood the music helps to create, think about the pulse (beat), and try to identify some different instruments.

So far we have listened to Handel's Music for Fireworks, Mozart's Horn Concerto, The Lonely Goatherd from The Sound of Music and Grieg's Morning Mood. They have been very different but the children have loved them and could confidently talk about them! Charlie told me " Mozart is really called Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart" and Oliver said Handel's first name was "George".

Our Music of the week this week is by The Proclaimers, 500 Miles! The children (and Fox Class adults!) adore singing and marching to it, and they enjoy miming to the guitar and anticipating when the drums come in. Do ask your children about it.

Have a lovely weekend!
