Purple Class were invited to visit the Mayor of Bath, Councillor Mrs Carol Paradise, at the Guildhall, after one of the children met her at another local event. This fits in with the mayor’s theme for her year in office which is ‘Always work with children and animals!’

The children were entertained in the Mayor’s very grand parlour and treated to fruit juice and biscuits served in the best crystal and on fine china plates.

The Mayor wore her special chain and each of the children was able to try on a special child sized replica of the Mayor’s robes and hold a miniature mace. They were also able to look around the parlour and ask questions about several of the objects on display there.
