Dear Parents,

This newsletter is accompanied by our ‘Christmas Special’ with details of our Christmas Celebrations and other events. . Please make sure that you keep this to refer to over the next few weeks. Year 2 parents please pay special attention to the details of our performance at ‘the egg’. Spare copies of all letters are available from the red pockets outside the office and on the website. This is always a busy and fun time to be in school.

Article in Bath Chronicle

There was a super article about our OFSTED inspection in the Bath Chronicle on Monday which I hope you saw. There is a copy of it on the notice boards in the playground and entrance hall. Please spread the good news about our school in the local community especially amongst those with young children. We really do want to be the first choice school for families in our local area.

21st Century Child : Love In A Box

What a fantastic response. Thank you all for your generosity. We collected over 60 boxes, more than ever before, which are being collected by 21st Century Child today. I am sure the children of Eastern Europe will have a smile on their faces if they are lucky enough to receive one of our boxes. Thank you.

A new group for all parents ~ Book Worms

Two of our parents Kate Kinson and Heather Kale who have children in Year 1 have offered to run an informal  book group on Tuesday mornings in the New Year. The group will be all about children’s books and how to support your child with the important skill of learning to read. Kate and Heather have lots of ideas for activities to enjoy both as a group of parents and to try out with your child. They also hope that those who join the group will have ideas of their own to share. As well as being focused on books it is intended to give you a chance to meet socially and enjoy a cup of coffee and a chat together. Pre school children will be welcome.

Wanted ….. A Pianist

Is there anyone out there who can play the piano and would be prepared to accompany the Y1 and Y2s Christmas Celebration in school ? In the past we have had a parent who played for us but now moved away from Bath. If we can recruit a pianist it frees Miss McKenzie to play her flute which adds another lovely dimension to our celebration. Please let Mrs Claridge or Miss McKenzie know if you can help.

Does anyone want ………. A computer trolley

We have four computer trolleys available to take away. Please let us know if you would like one or know of an organisation that would be bale to make use of them.  We can only store them for a few days as we need the space for our Christmas Events.

Does anyone have ……….. spare bunk beds

One of our families is in need of bunk beds. Does anyone have a set of bunk beds that they would be prepared to give to help another family ? The frame alone would be fine. Please let Mrs Claridge know if you can help.

OPASC News

The After School Club is pleased to report that its recent Ofsted Inspection went well with a good report.  A copy of this report can be found on the Ofsted Web site at www.ofsted.gov.uk  or alternatively please pick up a copy from the club.

Unfortunately Claire McLeod will be stepping down from her role as Treasurer at the Club from the end of this term.  Claire has been involved with the Club since 2002 when she first worked as a Play worker, she then took on the role as Treasurer last year. Her help has been greatly appreciated by parents, staff and committee members. She has just returned to University to complete her degree and needs to dedicate her time to her studies. We wish her all the best for the future.

The club only continues to run because of the hard work of the staff and the voluntary management from the committee.  We therefore need to appoint another Treasurer, if you or someone you know would like to take up this role or help in any way,  please contact Muriel (Chair) or Jane (Secretary) on telephone 01225 331614 or 01225 401360.

Thank you

Muriel and Jane
