Dear Parents,

 

This is an extra edition of our newsletter mainly to remind you of the events ahead for the last week of term. As it has been a somewhat week ‘different’ week I thought we might all benefit from a few memory joggers.

 

OFSTED Inspection

Thank you for all your support over the past week, from the number of questionnaires returned, the kind words and smiles, to those who weeded and tidied the wildlife area, each gesture has been most appreciated.

Schools only get 2 days notice of an inspection these days compared to 6 to 10 weeks in the past and I have to say that although we had expected an inspection this year we were not anticipating it being quite so soon ! However , as ever at Oldfield Park Infants the team effort has been stunning.

Although we are not allowed to share the detail with you just yet, I can say that we are very pleased with the outcomes. You will receive the report shortly, probably when we return from the holiday.

 

Bulb Planting Morning : Sunday October 15th : 10am to 1pm

Come along on Sunday morning and help improve our school grounds by weeding , pruning or planting bulbs. Bring some bulbs if you can. You don’t have to stay for the whole time. The more the merrier … refreshments will be provided.;

 

 

School Photographer : Tuesday October 17th

Please return the slip from last week’s newsletter. If we do not hear from you we will assume that you want an individual photograph of your child and a group photo with brothers / sisters in school.

 

Harvest Celebration : Wednesday October 18th.

We would appreciate gifts of tins and dried foods which will be given to the Genesis Project in Bath who provide for the homeless and needy. Alternatively fresh fruit and vegetables may be brought in. These will be distributed to the elderly after the celebration and the remainder sold on the playground by some of the Year 2s from 2.45pm onwards on the same day. Please come and support the sale. We would also be grateful for shoeboxes or empty boxes of a similar size in which to display fresh produce. Please bring tins, dried fruit, produce and boxes on the morning of October 18th.

 

 

B.I.B. s Firework Poster Competition

Pleased return your named posters by 9am on  Friday October 20th .

 

 

Family Learning Courses

Please return your reply slips to join in the ‘Keeping Up With the Children’ course and / or ‘Practical Parenting’

 

 

 

 

 

 

PTA Cake Sale : Friday October 20th

Please bring cakes (home made or bought) into the canteen first thing in the morning. If they are decorated with an Autumn or firework theme so much the better. Lots of small cakes (or savoury snacks)  are also much appreciated as we'd like all the children to be able to choose one to buy for 20p during the afternoon. Please don't forget: lots of cakes & please send your children to school clutching 20p in a named envelope or purse.

Lost Scooter

Please check that you have the right scooter …… Latika’s scooter is still missing.

 

 

 

It has been quite a week …. have a good weekend … I know the staff will be !!

I hope to see some of you on Sunday at the bulb planting.
