The children from year 1 joined with children from 5 other local infant schools for a Storytelling day at Prior Park College. The day was based on the story of ‘The Jolly Postman’ who delivers letters to different fairy tale characters. Each school met two different fairy tale characters during the day and joined in lots of role play activities to explore the characters in more detail. We met the giant and Jack for Jack and the Beanstalk. The day finished with all the children getting together to sing a song that the characters taught them earlier in the day, with each school adding a verse describing the characters they had met. The Jolly Postman himself had a very busy day delivering lots of letters to the children on his bicycle.
